We just ate a delicious ribeye steak. Yum! Very flavorful and perfectly cooked. The mushroom side was particularly tasty, as was the complimentary bread which was soft and sweet. We also had the brownie with butter pecan icecream--both chock full of pecans. Our waiter was on point (and absolutely right about the fact that the dessert would be easiest to eat with a spoon. Thanks!) I'm so glad we decided to eat here.

Overall very good, but the half chicken was extremely small.

Go here! I am quite a harsh critic. That being said, everything we ordered was good. I'm guessing the cook is either the owner or on the run from the law, otherwise he would be doing very well for himself at a restaurant not in the middle of the badlands. I had to take a star for horrid and dated atmosphere. Waitress was awesome, food was timely and excellent. Believe it or not we found one of the few cooks in West Texas that know what medium rare steak looks like!

I had a glass of scotch a cold IPA and the Ribeye cooked medium-rare. The scotch was warm, the beer was cold, and the steak was cooked to perfection. The sides didn't have a whole lot of flavor to them but they weren't bad. Did I mention how good the steak was?

Lisa runs a top notch restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere are a must have when in town. There is an attached ice cream parlor that is equally wonderful. Every item on the menu is above expectation. Always a smiling face and something for every taste. The value is phenomenal.

No other American food restaurant in Van Horn, we were tired of Mexican food. We started with an order of six chicken wings and sweet potato fries. We had the chicken fried steak as a main entrée. The chicken wings really were an appetizer. They were, possibly Cornish hen wings. I don't know maybe I'm just used to huge size Dragon wings. However they were very crunchy and tasty. I specifically asked to have my sweet potato fries brought out with the chicken wings and that didn't happen. Maybe they were on the field picking the potatoes.I don't know but they arrived with the dinner entrée and they were cold. The chicken fried steak had a crunchy beer batter but, it was way too salty and ruined the entire meal. We had to scrape off the beer batter. Had it not been so salty, it would've been perfect. The mashed potatoes that came with it were pretty good. The corn on the cob was mushy and needed salt.The service was mediocre. A big plus was the $1 Coronas.

For a little, tiny town, this place wasn't bad. Clean, good service, pretty good food. The burger was delicious, and the beer was cold. More than I expected from here. Would recommend!

Good food, the chicken fried steak was a bit salty for my taste, but good nonetheless. Mashed potatoes were just that, like homemade with some lumps. 50 cent upcharge to change a side item. I didn't want corn on the cob but instead wanted the green beans. So it cost an extra 50 cents. Hmmm... Ok. Service was friendly, polite, and meaningful but a bit slow and little overwhelmed for such a small number of tables to serve.

We enjoyed the delicious food and prompt and courteous service. The menu as its name suggests favours steak that was prepared as ordered. My half chicken was cooked perfectly, deliciously seasoned and sauced. The mashed potatoes had some lumps but the service certainly made up for that small imperfection. The wines were Texan as were many of the beer choices.

Awesome food and service. Go to the bar if you want quick service. Chopped steak was great. Everything is fresh. This is the best restaurant in town by far.

First time dining here and will definitely return. My husband and I arrived around 8 pm. The place was packed. Prices were very reasonable and service was very good in spite of them being short handed. The menu had a good variety. They were out of bacon wrapped filets so we ordered the ribeye steak. It was cooked to perfection; medium rare. Only mashed potatoes available on menu. Variety of sides available and yummy desserts. Full bar with creative monthly drink specials. The interior could use a bit of updating, but shoot we didn't go there for the decorations and certainly weren't disappointed by the food.

Great food and great service. The steak was tender and flavorful and the green beans where delicious.

I had the chicken fried steak with 2 sides, garlic mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. All were excellent. Portions were ample. Our server was friendly and very efficient. The peach cobbler for dessert was fantastic. They also have fresh salads with a good variety of greens. Prices are reasonable.

I wouldn't make a special trip from California, but I'd definitely make a special stop in Texas to enjoy this place. They have their own take on a nice menu (we loved the cherry honey vinaigrette), steak done right, and the sides were great (perfect green beans). And Lupe made sure everything was perfect.

Good steak and a variety of beers. I returned multiple times while I was out there.

Driving east on i10 i google a place to eat dinner found this place in Van Horn 745pm it look like a ghost town it was all closed up every where you looked driving to the place WELL WORTH IT.... need to stop on my way back for a STEAK next time 4 sure

Great staff. Good craft beer selection and there was live music when I visited.

My bf and I were traveling from NYC to California and stopped in Van Horn for a night and picked this restaurant and we're so glad we did. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was homey, and the service was amazing. Julie the bartender knew her sh*t and gave me some of the best pickle backs I've ever heard. Highly recommend this place :)

This was a surprise in such a small town, and I'm glad I took the recommendation of the desk clerk at the Holiday Inn Express. What a treat to have a glass of wine, a nice salad and a beautifully prepared filet after a long day of driving cross-country. If I have to make another stop here, I would choose this restaurant again.

Highly recommend! All the staff was super friendly but Emily really made us feel at home! Even though we were passing through late at night and forgot about the time change she was happy to help us! Oh, and our food was cooked perfectly! I had my steak medium rare (as a steak should be 😝), probably one of the best steaks Ive had in a LONG time! Definitely worth checking out.

Terrible service. We had asked for waters three times at least on top of very long wait times. I don’t know if this was do to being understaffed or not, but it comes down to a terrible taste in the mouth for the customer. This was our second time coming here, and the same service experienced while one was during the holiday and one wasn’t.

I was worried about getting it to go. Ribeye and burger was Perfect! Only recommendation is to put better quality plastic-ware with the meals to go.

After driving for a full day, we decided to stop rest and eat . We Google this restaurant and decided to try it . Big mistake. On a Thursday night , we waited 9min to be seated, 14 min for someone to come to our table and take the order and even longer for the food to come out . There was one server for our side of the restaurant. This might be a great place for locals but for travelers ready to eat, don't bother.

There were a lot of patrons for a Monday night in a small town. We took it as a good sign, and we were right. The food was good and service was friendly.

Don't go here if you are looking for good service. When we walked in to when we got our food we waited an hour. Only 5 other tables in the place. Would not recommend.

We went with a larger group (8) and by all accounts the food was great. Staff was friendly as can be. Service was very slow, to the point that a couple drinks were ordered before food had come and still not arrived until after food was gone which was also a long wait in itself. Top notch stop if you're in no hurry to be anywhere.

One of two places to anything other than Mexican food. They are next to each other. Van Horn Cattle company has decent steaks. Craft beer. Specialties. Prices decent. Nice atmosphere. Food good. Desserts a little lacking. Service excellent.

This place is freaking fantastic! Location is wierd because it's hidden but the food is to die for honestly. Only reason why I mentioned location is you'll see why I say it when you try to find it. No where in El Paso makes food like this. Servers are nice, and it's QUIET and upscale. Beef is on point, and pricing is fair.

An unassuming place in a town that has obviously been hit hard by economy and the draw to big city living. Food was awesome, three of us tried a variety of appetizers, entrees and deserts. All the food was greatWe had a complaint about no fizz in our 2 cokes but hopefully management can tweak the dispenser to fix that (they didn’t charge for the cokes) We were too full to try the Ice Cream store next door but it was crowded on a Wednesday night and people seamed to be enjoying themselves inside and outside the joint 😎😎😎

Enjoyed the peach cobbler with cinnamon ice cream. I was passing through town and stopped here.

My File Mignon was tiny and overcooked. Subpar quality, either was frozen or just old. I also did not like that they charge $2 to go fee and never mention it. The steak fries were alright.

Had the New York striploin. Good quality meat cooked like i asked for it. Great service, very attentive waitress. The only thing i would say can use some attention is the chairs-felt a little old and shaky especially for a big guy like me.

Tasty food and good atmosphere. Unfortunately they are a bit short staff and take a long time to serve the food. If you have time, it is worth it. The mashed potatoes are very good and the half chicken plate is delicious. The green beans with almonds are quite good. Some dinner plates come with complimentary wine.

Very casual service. Very slow kitchen although the food is well presented, tasty. Meat is very good quality - tender flat iron steak, meaty ribs trimmed to retain good ratio of succulent fat .Multiple parties of 2 had wait more than 5 minutes to be seated when restaurant was 50% full (there may have been an unseen private party). Wait for salad was 20 minutes too long. No wet wipes given with the order of ribs. Chipotle BBQ sauce is well balanced of vinegar, sweet with undercurrent of spiciness. Exterior signage is not prominent - easy to miss by out of towners as it is a stylized brand & not overtly the name of the restaurant.

This place is awesome, the people are super friendly and the food was fantastic I highly recommend this place, as a matter of fact I’m heading there right ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The bartender and I hope that the spelling is correct. Selena was the absolute best!! You can only hope that you run into a bartender as great as this young lady!

Best flavored steak in 3 states! Scrumptious garlic mashed potatoes! Service a little slow but we did get there 40 min till closing...

Decent food but EXTREMELY slow service, Stood the the entrance for over 20 minutes waiting to be seated. Once we actually got seated it took another 15 minutes before we were even asked what we would like to drink. After we ordered took 40 minutes for the food to even come out highly disappointed will not be returning again.

Awesome Prime Rib! Real olive oil for salad (a big deal to me)! Friendly service. Great experience, even walking in 20 minutes to closing.

Pretty good local steak house. You may have a bit of a wait for service depending on how busy they are. We just had hamburgers, they were very good.

Get there early. Always awesome food. The brownie is fantastic.
